Egypt

Right now a lot of things have been going on in Egypt. But the biggest problem is political. Egypt needs a good stable president unlike the ones in the past that brought forth many problems. Hosni Mubarak ruled was president for 30 years until protests and riots forced him to step down. Mohamed Morsi, a member of The Muslim Brotherhood, was elected as the replacement. However his rule only caused more havoc, unrest, and dysfunction. He unable to fix things so 11 months into his presidency, he was overthrown. Adly Mansour stood in as acting president until Sisi was elected. There was nothing Mansour could really do. Abdel Fattah el-Sisi- a military leader- became the latest president and is working to fix these problems. The question is: Can he fix it?

The U.S. should continue to provide financial aid to Egypt. In addition to political problems, there also is economic problems. Not many people can afford to receive education. Therefore people grow up illiterate and without stable jobs or homes. Many people are stuck in poverty. Therefore the U.S. should keep sending money. However the U.S. should not be helping politically This would just cause more complications and problems.

Western media portrays the government as the bad guys and justifies the protesters. The media shows the chaotic state the country is currently in but is dramatized and exaggerated. I think the media is telling the truth but only to a certain degree.

Where I'm From

Where I'm from everyone wakes up to the rooster's cock-a-doodle-doos
Everyone gets up early for there is no time to sleep in and snooze
Boys play basketball at the local court with the same flat ball everyday before school
It's a tropical country full of beautiful water in beaches and pools
There are 7,107 islands, each one is different and unique
Everyone does their same routine every day every week
Rice is found in almost every meal
In a sense rice is life
The husbands are the workers while the cleaning and cooking is left for the wife
Everyone in the neighborhood knows each other everyone is family or a friend
They socialize right outside and everyone goes the party that's held every weekend

Farming is a huge part of the lifestyle
Rice fields, tropical fruit trees, animals, and many more are seen every mile
Most toilets are flushed with a bucket of water
It's almost around 90 degrees everyday you wouldn't think it could get hotter
Where I'm from the people are honest, hospitable, and kind
Most people don't have much
There is a high rate of crime

The backyards are full of fruit trees firmly planted
People don't take food or whatever they have for granted
There are only two seasons
a cool dry season
and a warm wet season
It's the home of chocolate hills, volcanoes, mountains, clear crystal waters,
and many sights that are aesthetically pleasing

The place I'm from
is on the other side of the world in a different continent
Even though I live in a different place I never lose
consciousness
I will never forget about the
Philippines
It cannot be replaced
It's my place with my culture and my race
I still visit this place that i'm from
No matter what it will happens,
to me it will always be number one
